I wasn’t intending to tell my story. It was pulled out of me kicking and screaming. You see, when I first began to collate the information and tools that I’d used to explain how I’d turned my life around, I’d presented the material in a dry, textbook-like fashion. The original version was like a procedure manual without examples, pictures or humour. In one word – boring!

When I proudly shared it with a dear friend the response I was expecting was something along the lines of – ‘OMG this is amazing!’ However, the reaction I received was the complete opposite.

To this day, my friend Maria’s words still ring in my ears. She said: “No one will ever read this. It would be different if you were Deepak Chopra or Eckhart Tolle. But you are a nobody!”

My heart sank. I wondered if I’d just wanted nine months of my life. I’d spent six months researching, making notes and applying the information and I’d seen the changes and progress I’d made in my life and really thought I was onto something big. I’d then spent another three months collating the material into a format I thought would be helpful to others.

I was confused by my friend’s reaction. I’d already shared many of the concepts with Maria during our weekly debriefing sessions. She had seemed enthralled when I described the new concepts and strategies I was learning and implementing in my life. She had even begun applying some of the techniques I was using and had seen significant improvements in her own life. Naturally, I assumed that she would be delighted with the logical, simple, practical step-by-step format I believed I’d created for explaining the ideas and processes I’d used to change my experience of life.

I admit now that Maria was right and I can’t thank her enough for her feedback and extracting my story in order to bring the content alive.

I had to rethink my plan to bring you a dynamic, user friendly and informative website. I have. It’s almost done and hope you are going to love it. The feedback and support I’ve received from the experts I feature has been phenomenal.

To give you a taste of what is to come, over the next few weeks I am going to share my personal transformational journey and reveal the stages I went through, the techniques I used to interrupt my habit of spiralling into negativity and depression (without medication) and the processes I discovered which allowed me to build a life that I love.

This is my wish for you too. I hope A Guide for Life impacts your life as much as it has mine.

With love,

Kylie xo
