I’m in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico with Gregg Braden and Dr. Bruce Lipton.  I’ll share more about my time with them in my next post, but first I’d like to update you on my Brainmap consultation with neuroscientist, Dr. Jeffrey Fannin.

Let me give you a little background.

Over the last three to four years, I’ve had a significant shift in the way I experience life.  The struggle has ended.  I no longer feel lost, hollow or deeply unhappy.  Instead, day-by-day my life has become richer, more colourful and joyous.

I have a deeper understanding of who I am, what inspires me and how I contribute to the world.  I’ve developed an unshakeable inner strength.  I am no longer at the mercy of what life throws at me.  Instead, I now trust in the way life is unfolding.  It feels good to be alive.

The shift wasn’t due to a change in my physical surroundings or personal circumstances.  For instance, I hadn’t won the lottery, landed my dream job or met the love of my life yet.  The changes I experienced were internal, a result of my journey of self-exploration and the resources I’d applied to my life.

The changes were significant.  They weren’t fleeting.  In fact, they were long lasting.  Still, part of me wondered if it was just a phase I was going through or was it all in my mind?  The sceptical side of me wanted proof.

Kylie Attwell with Dr. Jeffrey Fannin at Thought Genius in Phoenix, ArizonaAs fate would have it, I was provided with an opportunity to have my brain mapped by the neuroscientist, Dr. Jeffrey Fannin, who had both the technology and expertise to confirm if the changes I’d experienced were real.

His cutting-edge research uses EEG technology to determine the effect meditation and belief change processes, such as PSYCH-K, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Access Consciousness and Tapping have on improving brain function.

I’d been using various methods, specifically PSYCH-K, to reprogram my subconscious mind in an attempt to interrupt my habit of spiralling into negativity and depression.  I found practices that helped alleviate my fears so that I could take actions that were more in alignment with the person I am at a core level.

Rather than merely having blind faith in the practices I was using, Dr. Fannin was able to verify that the inner shifts I’d experienced, did indeed correlate to changes in the way my brain functioned.

My Brainmap revealed that all the work I’d been doing on myself was working. In fact, my neurology indicated that I was was further ahead than I thought I was.  My results demonstrated that I was becoming more whole, more congruent.  My brain was in a very coherent state and I was able to maintain that state most of the time.

Dr. Fannin encouraged me to continue what I’d been doing.  He said, “we can see with Brainmapping those people who think they are doing the work and the people that are actually doing the work.”

In the coming weeks and months, I’ll explain more about the power of the subconscious mind.  I’ll also share the processes I used and the steps I took to reprogram my subconscious beliefs and describe in more detail the impact this has had on my life.

It’s almost midnight here and I have another big day ahead of me.  Time for bed!
