Dr. Joe Dispenza is a much sought-after international speaker, workshop facilitator, corporate consultant, author and a leading authority on the brain, the mind, the body and consciousness. His teachings explain the role and the function of the human brain and how you can reprogramme your thinking through scientifically proven neurophysiological principles, so that you can create your ideal life, heal chronic conditions and terminal diseases. Dr. Joe’s work is grounded in both the latest scientific research and personal experience – he is a living testament to the transformative power of the brain.
In 1986 at the age of 23, he was hit by a truck and thrown from his bike while competing in a triathlon. Diagnosed with six compression fractures of this thoracic vertebra, bone fragments in his spinal cord, amongst other injuries, he was lucky to be alive and was facing the possibility of permanent paralysis and life as a quadriplegic.
Four of California’s leading orthopedic surgeons recommended that in order to give him the best hope of walking again, that he undergo surgery to fuse his spine together. An operation with a recovery period of 12 weeks, that even if successful could leave him permanently disabled and in constant pain.
He was well versed about spinal health and the mind-body connection, having recently received his doctor of chiropractic degree from Life University in Atlanta, Georgia, graduating with honours and establishing his chiropractic clinic. With this knowledge and background, he made a life-changing decision and refused the operation. This risky decision made the doctors question his mental state, insisting that his family send him for psychological assessment.
After checking himself out of hospital, Dr. Joe set about developing and implementing a carefully designed therapeutic programme, which involved gentle exercise and using his mind to heal his body. Within 10 weeks he was walking and he was back working in has chiropractic clinic, completely healed and pain free, functioning as well as he had before the accident.
During his time recovering from his injury he made a promise to himself, that if he was successful in healing his body fully using the power of his mind, he would dedicate his life to studying people who have had spontaneous healings. True to his word Dr. Joe spent years travelling the world interviewing ordinary people that were reported to have so-called miraculous healings. His research revealed four core similarities in the way these people changed their thinking following their diagnosis, which lead to the change in their health.
In order to scientifically explain his findings, Dr. Joe went back to university. He studied biochemistry at Ruthgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey and has a Bachelor’s of Science degree with an emphasis in Neuroscience from Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. His postgraduate training includes neurology, neuroscience, brain function and chemistry, cellular biology, memory formation, ageing and longevity.
Dr. Joe has spent decades studying the human mind – how it works, how it stores information, and why it perpetuates the same behavioural patterns over and over. He is driven by the conviction that each one of us has the potential for greatness and unlimited abilities. His life purpose is helping people explore the latest findings from the fields of neuroscience and quantum physics so they can heal illnesses and enjoy a more fulfilling and happy life.
He shares his findings with the public through his books, audio programs, DVD’s, television appearances and radio interviews, and is known for his lively, conversational way of presenting scientific concepts to ordinary people. His ability to inspire and motivate audiences to re-think their futures has made him a much sought-after international speaker and workshop facilitator.
